Group III Instrument Rating

Prerequisites

  Candidates must possess a Private Pilot Licence or Commercial Pilot Licence.

  Applicants shall possess a valid medical applicable to their licence.

  Candidates must obtain a 70% or better on the INRAT exam (ground school instruction provided.)

  All candidates must successfully complete and pass a flight test.

  Candidates shall complete a minimum of 40 hours dual instrument time, consisting of a maximum
    of 20 hours on a simulator. This includes any instrument time that was obtained during the
    completion of a licence or Night or VFR Over-The-Top ratings.

  Candidates must have a minimum of 50 hours Cross-Country Pilot-In-Command flight time
    prior to conducting the flight test.

Note:  Flight training times specified are based on Transport Canada minimums and more training may be required.

  15 Hours Dual Flight Training @ $196/hr ....................................................$2,940.00

Simulator

  20 Hours Dual Flight Training @ $100/hr ....................................................$2,000.00

Preparatory Ground Instruction

  10 Hours@ $60/hr ............................................................................................$600.00

  Times above will be less if candidate has obtained a night rating or VFR-Over-The-Top rating.

  At course commencement ensure that you have a copy of the W.M. Aeroflight Training Program
    and a copy of both the Transport Canada Flight Test Guide and the Study and Reference Guide.
